Asphalt Driveways Built to Outlast the Winters
A driveway is the first thing people see and the last thing they want to redo. We build ours on a real base, pitch them so water leaves, and roll them tight, which is why our customers still send us photos years later.
What goes into our asphalt driveways
Full-depth, not a quick top coat
We assess the ground, drainage and vehicle loads, then specify the excavation, compacted stone base and asphalt layers for the property. A sound foundation matters as much as the finished surface.
Pitched to drain
Every driveway is graded so water runs off it, not into your garage or foundation. Where a low spot is unavoidable we install a drain.
Aprons, borders and curbing
Belgian block aprons, paver borders and stone curbing are done in-house by our masonry crew, so the whole entrance matches.
Owner on site
Fernando gives you the proposal, sets the schedule and checks the work in person. No sales layer, no surprises at the end.
The process
Site visit and written proposal
We walk the driveway with you, talk about drainage, borders and timing, and put the price in writing. Estimates are free.
Excavation and grading
The old driveway comes out. We shape the subgrade for drainage and compact it.
Base
The specified stone base is laid and compacted. Thickness depends on the site, ground conditions and expected loads.
Paving
Hot mix asphalt is placed with the paver and rolled. The proposal should specify the finished compacted thickness and layers.
Cure and care
Follow the crew’s written opening and care instructions. Weather, mix and vehicle loads affect when you can return to the driveway.
Asphalt Driveways FAQ
How long does a new asphalt driveway last in the Hudson Valley?
Service life depends on construction, drainage, traffic, weather and maintenance. A sound compacted base and control of water are essential in a freeze-thaw climate. We assess those conditions during the site visit rather than promise a fixed lifespan.
How long before I can drive on it?
Wait for the crew’s instruction before driving or parking on new asphalt. Opening time depends on the mix, weather and vehicle load; cooling enough for use is different from long-term hardening.
Can you replace just the damaged section?
Sometimes. If the base is sound we can mill and resurface, or patch. If the driveway is sinking or alligator-cracked across most of its surface, replacement is the better investment. We tell you which on the site visit.
Do you do Belgian block aprons and paver borders?
Yes. Our masonry crew installs Belgian block aprons, cobblestone borders and stone curbing as part of the same job.
